Dancers with improvisation experience are welcome to join us as we explore clearly guided structures that lead to freedom of expression. Although it may sound counter-intuitive, the more structure we have, the more freedom we have to create. The Art of Improvisation sessions are facilitated by several experienced members of the group.

About the founder:
Sharon Took-Zozaya, who coordinates this group, has worked internationally as a choreographer, performer and teacher, independently and collaboratively producing professional, educational and community projects with both able-bodied and disabled dancers. Her work is concerned with the human condition: how we move through, with and beyond our limitations in order to find meaning amid the apparent chaos of life.

Her choreography has been shown across Scotland, in the USA and Mexico, and selected for events such as the premiere Santa Cruz Fringe Festival, sjDANCEco Choreo Awards, Renaud Wilson Festival, West Wave Festival, So Wat Now? Festival and the Monterey Dance Fest. Sharon currently teaches at Cabrillo College, The 418 Project, Adaptive Yoga Project, Creative Dance and Movement and independently. She is also a Certified Yoga Therapist and Game of Transformation facilitator.
